Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation

I am not a big foundation fan, in fact I have only found two foundations I’ve liked in the last few years and those are Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk and Tom Ford’s stick foundation. Otherwise I use Dr. Jart+ BB cream with SPF 50 on the daily.

I just find other foundations to irritate me, I want to wash my face right away and they emphasize my pores more that when I have nothing on them at all. And who wants that?! Not me!

So when Influenster and Make Up For Ever sent me the Ultra HD liquid and stick foundations for review I was hesitant. But they were free so what did I have to lose? I. Am. In. Love! Why haven’t I tried them before?! It made my skin look air brushed! And a glowy matte if you know what I mean… just as close to perfection that I feel I can get without going back in time to when I was 10 and had perfect poreless skin. Remember those days? Yes, those were the days weren’t they? Sigh.

They both wear beautifully throughout the day for me. I like the stick foundation for those days I didn’t have time to put on makeup at home. Also it’s great for touching up, not that I needed it but if you are going out after work it’s nice to freshen up.

I tried different ways of applying and I personally liked using the Marc Jacobs foundation buffing brush. I don’t buff it in though. It’s more of a patting and then a little buffing motion.

I tried using beauty sponge to apply and it just didn’t work. My pores were emphasized and it seems to pull the foundation off not apply it. I’m telling you this because it’s important to experiment with different ways to apply your makeup. There isn’t one hard and fast way and everyone is different. What works for me may not work for you.

I really love both of these foundations. If I had to choose, I would choose the liquid one only because it dried down to a beautiful glowing matte better that the stick. But only by a slight margin.

I hope this review was helpful and let me know if you have tried either of these and how you liked them.

Thank you Influenster and Make Up For Ever for sending me these foundations to review.
